Maryland’s Forte George G. Meade is home to numerous partner organizations of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard. Importantly, it’s also home to several critical federal agencies, including the National Security Agency and the U.S. Cyber Command. No wonder expansion is about to get underway!
GOVCON Wire reports that after reviewing three bids for a design and construction contract on the East Campus of Fort Meade in Maryland, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has awarded a $697.8 million contract to the U.S. subsidiary of Balfour Beatty. As the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers explains:
East Campus is a 242 acre section of Fort Meade, Maryland that will serve as the center for
the National Security Agency and the U.S. Cyber Command. The projects will include multi-story office buildings, secure administrative spaces, large parking structures, cyber operations center,
power stations, an access control point, and a road that connects the buildings throughout the
campus. The multi-story buildings are designed to meet the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Silver criteria.
